Walking: A walk on the  Leitrim way,

Cycling – bring your own and explore Leitrim or hire an electric biking from Electric Bike trails,

For a unique experience and to learn about the mines don’t forget to book your ticket for the Arigna mining experience.

Canoeing in Leitrim

 

For adventure and thrills you need to visit Lough Key Forest Park and try Zipit Lough Key Forest Park as well as the Waterpark at Drumshanbo.

For some relaxation visit Ard Nahoo or join Adventure Gently for some canoeing and slow adventures.

The local farmers markets are also well worth a visit.

Time a visit to coincide with the Joe Mooney summer school.

Visit nearby Sligo and walk the beach at Streedagh, Sligo, along with visit to the Model gallery and events space in Sligo.

Relax on the waterways of Leitrim

 

For refreshments:

Visit the village tearooms in Dromahair or in the evening check out the Cottage restaurant in Jamestown.

Savour a pint in Stanfords village inn, Dromahair, where you might also catch a tune or two.

While in Dromahair you could also visit nearby Creevelea Friary Abbey, a short walk from the village of Dromahair and well worth a visit.  Cross the footbridge over the River Bonet and follow the local path to the abbey.  Alternatively Parkes Castle, an OPW heritage site is a short distance away.
